I’m taking tomorrow off to volunteer at the Astrodome. Just got an email from a volunteer coordinator telling me where to check-in tomorrow morning at 7am. Not sure exactly what I’ll be doing*, but since it’s with the Harris County Hospital District, I assume it’ll be something health related. Maybe helping with the Astrodome Health Clinic they just set up.

*As it turns out, I’ll be helping people with medical needs fill out paperwork.

The director of the Family Service Center stopped by the office today. Her agency’s been receiving a number of displaced flood victims. She said everyone’s asking for food, shelter and clothing…..but that all of them are in a state of shock.
