[the first post from my new laptop! yay.]
Yet another gem from JPP (aka, Oh Bee Juan), who was at Sunday’s miraculous Stros game. The following is his email report.

Today’s run was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. It could be due to any one or combination of factors - the 60 degree weather, being well rested, getting my weekly training runs in, switching hydration drinks/energy gels, etc - but whatever the case, it’s renewed my confidence and motivation. Below are my stats….I decided to try recording my mile splits today.
Location: Memorial Park Loop
Distance: 9 miles
Time: 1:44:44
Avg Heart Rate: 163 (stayed below 170 for the first 7 miles)
Max Heart Rate: 184
Splits:
Mile 1 - 11:35
Mile 2 - 11:57
Mile 3 - 11:14
Mile 4 - 12:09
Mile 5 - 12:19
Mile 6 - 11:06
Mile 7 - 12:19
Mile 8 - 12:19
Mile 9 - 9:41 (!!!)
Hi, everyone.
Yes, I’m alive.
I’m sorry I’ve been so absent from the blogstead. What can I say? Between the non-weather-related drama of Rita, some unexpected computer woes and an even more unexpected busy period at work, I lost momentum with my blogging activities. Bad on me, I know.
First of all, thanks to those who left comments and sent such nice emails this week (i.e., “where the hell are you?” heh.). Although I’d been meaning to update all week (really, I promise!), the comments/emails were a great motivator and a reminder that hey - people actually visit my little slice of cyber-heaven. yay.
Ok, enough fluff. On to the update(s):
