I am home now from the 25K race. A cold pack is wrapped around my knee and I’m fighting the urge to spend the rest of the day on the couch.
Anyways, a quickie report from today’s race: thank god I finished. It was 80+ degrees, humid and just all around not fun. But, I finished, and that’s what matters.
More extended update later. Hobbling off to shower.

Hey Jen,
It was brutal out there. Waiting for the results on the net but I believe as many as 6 Striders had DNF’s, which is more than I can ever remember for a race. Anybody who finished has something to be very proud of!
Cheers, Steeeve
Way to ho Jen. It was HOT and NASTY out there. Bigs up to you for making it though the long race. I took the easy way out and ran the small one!
Way to go Jen!! I came home and soaked in the tub. Ahhhhh. Not much IT band issues today. Thank goodness, although I experienced cramping of the quads….first time ever.
Nice job Jen.
Sorry I didn’t get a chance to see you out there today before Waverly and I left to go to Huntsville to run trails. Hopefully will see you at the Bloggers 5K on December 10th, if not before.
You did really well Jen. That was one of the toughest races I’ve ever run. I’d liken the last three miles to the last three of any marathon I’ve ever run. Seasoned runners were telling me that it was harder than a marathon.
So, feel proud of yourself. By completing this race you’re obviously on track for a strong and fun run in January.
i think u should have gone for the post-race tacos
Nice job racing under those conditions. Rock on.
Keith.
P.S. I lived probably 5-6 miles from you in Jersey. I was in Nutley (Exit 151).
