It’s over, and I’ve done it. I crossed the finish line waving a Korean flag that my family had given me along the course, and as expected, burst into tears at the end. I’ll never forget the feeling of crossing that finish line….months and months of training, pre-dawn training runs, staying in on Friday nights…it all paid off today at 12:50pm.
And to top it all off, today is my 1.5 year anniversary of being a non-smoker.
Surprisingly, I’m feeling good physically. I felt worse after the 21-miler. My knees are sore, and my left hip feels like it’s had all the cartiledge ground down, but I think the adrenaline from running (and the 6 painkillers I took along the course) has helped kill the pain.
Anyways, I’m off to take a nap. I was falling asleep during lunch.

I am sooo proud. What a great run for you, and a great way to celebrate kicking the habit! I’m 13 years off the cancer sticks…
Too cool!!! I missed seeing you today. Glad to hear you had a great run.
You ROCK and you will ROCK ON (OK, I stole that from THE Professional Man of Action :)).
Congrats Jen! I almost cried a few times on the course. At the finish though, I was too happy to have FINISHED. My 8 year old son jumped in and ran the last 10th of a mile with me to the finish. We crossed holding hands, a really cool Kodak moment.
Being a non-smoker ROCKS!!! Over 6 years for me with no looking back. What a way for you to celebrate your 1.5 year anniversary. Congrats on your race!
Great job Jen,
I agree with what holden said about you rocking and all.
Keith.
