2 miles on treadmill  (in wonderfully air conditioned gym)

30 min weights

10 laps in pool (ahhhhh)

  • This was my first time to do laps this year….and wow, there's nothing like jumping into a pool when it's 104 degrees outside.  I did 10 laps, but varied the strokes - did mostly breaststroke and freestyle.  It took me a few laps to get used to breathing correctly in the freestyle, but once I got it down, it felt pretty good.  I'm definitely going to swim more - plus, it's a good way to keep progressing my shoulder recovery.   I'll just have to lay off the backstroke for a while - it definitely hurt after 2 laps.

Thanks to a referral by Luna, I have a new favorite website - runningahead.com.   It's an online training log that tracks all sorts of cool things like pace, route calculators, weight, mileage, etc.  It even creates graphs of your workouts (running, cycling, swimming, etc), and other wonderfully geeky stuff.  Best of all, it's FREE.   Thanks Luna!
