I’m in the last stages of making the final move from Blogger to Wordpress. The site might unavailable for the next few hours. Since I know everyone’s favorite thing to do on a Friday at work is check on escapevelocity. heh.
In the meantime, check out fourfour’s review of this week’s Project Runway episode. If you don’t watch PR, you a) probably won’t appreciate the genius of his recaps, and b) really, really need to start watching the show.

Another reason it’s been quiet…..
Inspired by the fabulous Lunamania (wootwoot), escapevelocity is undergoing a major redesign. Yes, I know I’ve talked about updating this site in the past, but this time it’s really happening. I promise.
The new & improved escapevelocity will be launched on Friday.
PS: Wordpress rawks.

lunamania, home of my favorite bay area spinner, MT blogger and Tamu-owner has a seriously awesome new layout, complete with the ever elusive - yet preeeety - three column layout. lunamania rawks.
I’ll admit, i’m jealous.
The new & improved lunamania is reviving my long lost dreams of updating escapevelocity’s own format, which would involve leaving Blogger for the tech-sexy and Houston-grown Wordpress (yup, WP was born right here in Htown). I got as far as installing WP on my server and applying a WP template. View the chaos here.
As a coincidence, Joe came across a running blog using the same template. That website is seriously awesome, by the way.

After almost 5 days of being broken, escapevelocity is back online. Some of you may have seen my cheesy “help, escapevelocity is broken” welcome page. The troubles started with a Blogger error message that would pop up everytime I tried to publish a post:
After a bit of research, it appeared this error message was related to ftp access priviledges. I hadn’t made any recent changes to either my Blogger or webhost settings so this didn’t make any sense, but I went ahead and made the recommended changes to my Blogger account - changed the ftp address to the actual IP address and a few other tweaks. No luck. The rest of the week was spent emailing back and forth with my webhost’s technical support department, trying to figure out why my account was suddenly blocking anything from Blogger.
In the end, escapevelocity was fixed with voodoo magic, and I am in the process of moving to Wordpress. Stay tuned for updates.
